The book De Zin van Ziekte (or in English The Meaning of Sickness) is written by Dutch theologist Alain Verheij as a search for insight into life's longest standing questions in the Bible, culture and litterature.
For this project, I designed the front cover for his book. It was important to him that the cover included religious figures in a modern setting.

The book was meant to have collage/cut out feeling – So I made sure to slightly mismatch the the lightning of Maria and Jesus compared to the photo of the hospital, go give that sense of them not belonging there.
